Drug and Alcohol Workplace Safety Training for Drivers

The Drug and Alcohol Workplace Safety Training course provides employees subject to the DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program with an understanding of the requirements, responsibilities, and safety considerations associated with drug and alcohol use in the transportation industry. Complying with 49 CFR Part 382 and 49 CFR Part 40, it explains the effects of alcohol and controlled substances on health, abilities, performance, and workplace safety, while helping employees understand their responsibilities under a DOT drug and alcohol testing program. Employees will learn who is subject to DOT testing requirements, when testing may occur, how the drug and alcohol testing process works, and the consequences of positive test results and refusals to test. The course also covers the role of the Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), the return-to-duty process, and requirements related to recordkeeping, access to records, and confidentiality.
